Supplement Unboxing Evidence

Written by the Online Supplements Singapore editorial team · Last updated: 12 July 2026

Supplement unboxing evidence is a short record of the parcel, shipping label, seal, product pack, and visible label details before you use an online purchase. It cannot prove that a supplement is genuine, safe, or suitable for you. It can show what arrived, connect the item to an order, and preserve differences between the listing and delivered pack. This guide is consumer education for Singapore shoppers, not medical advice.

Why record the parcel before opening

A delivery problem is easier to explain when evidence shows the unopened parcel, airway bill, contents, and product details. Starting after packaging is discarded can leave the order number, parcel condition, or quantity unclear.

Shopee Singapore's evidence guide, checked on 12 July 2026, asks for clear photos or videos for wrong, incomplete, expired, damaged, suspicious, or allegedly counterfeit products. Its Shopee Mall counterfeit-refund guide says relevant evidence may include the packaging, product, and airway bill. These are platform-specific requirements, not a universal legal standard.

Do not film passwords, full payment-card details, one-time passwords, private messages unrelated to the order, or private health information.

Match the problem to useful evidence

This original evidence map compares Shopee's published categories, captured on 12 July 2026.

What you observe Useful record before changing the item What the record does not prove
Wrong or missing product Parcel, airway bill, all contents, quantity Why the error happened
Expired product Full pack plus a clear expiry-date close-up Product safety or suitability
Spill, dent, or broken seal Outer parcel, protective packing, affected area Whether contents are authentic
Listing and pack differ Saved listing plus matching pack panel Which version is genuine
Suspected counterfeit Packaging, product, codes, seller and order trail Counterfeit status without expert review

Use neutral filenames such as order-date_parcel, order-date_contents, and order-date_expiry. Keep the original files so details remain easy to inspect.

Compare the delivered pack with the listing

HSA's Health Supplements Guidelines, checked on 12 July 2026, list label information such as product name, dosage form, active ingredients and quantities, batch number, expiry date, country of manufacture, local importer or product owner, warnings, storage condition, and pack size. That official list supports a second original element: a delivered-pack comparison sheet.

Compare only what is visible. Record whether these fields match the listing or order page:

  1. Product and brand name.
  2. Dosage form and pack size.
  3. Active-ingredient panel.
  4. Batch or lot number and expiry date.
  5. Country-of-manufacture wording.
  6. Local importer or product-owner details, when applicable.
  7. Directions, warnings, and storage wording.

A mismatch is a reason to pause and ask the seller or brand for clarification. A matching label is not proof of authenticity, because packaging can be copied and a listing image may not represent the delivered batch. Use the broader verification checklist and batch number and recall check before drawing a conclusion.

A six-step unboxing record

Keep the process short enough that you will actually use it:

  1. Save the order page, seller name, listing URL, and order number.
  2. Photograph every side of the unopened parcel and the readable airway bill.
  3. Record one continuous opening video if the platform permits and a dispute is plausible.
  4. Lay out all contents and record the quantity, inserts, seals, and protective packaging.
  5. Take close-ups of the front, ingredient panel, batch, expiry, importer, and damaged areas.
  6. Compare the pack with the saved listing and write down differences without guessing why they exist.

Avoid opening an inner safety seal or consuming the product while a return or authenticity question is unresolved. Check the platform's current return instructions before sending anything back.

If the delivery does not match

Keep the item, packaging, and evidence together. Contact the seller through the platform so the question remains connected to the order. State the observable mismatch—such as a different pack size, unreadable expiry, broken seal, or missing item—rather than accusing the seller without verification.

For Shopee Mall's published counterfeit route, the help page checked on 12 July 2026 says a request must be raised within 15 days after order arrival, uses the “Received Counterfeit” reason, and requires clear relevant evidence. That timing and route apply to the cited Shopee Mall programme; other orders and platforms may have different current terms.

If the product appears tampered with, is expired, or differs materially from the listing, do not use it while the issue is unresolved. If you feel unwell after taking any health product, seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist. The evidence record supports a platform, seller, brand, or regulator query; it does not replace professional assessment.

FAQ

Does an unboxing video prove a supplement is counterfeit?
No. It records what arrived and the parcel condition. Authenticity may require confirmation from the brand, seller, platform, or relevant authority.

Should I open the inner seal to photograph the contents?
Not when a return or authenticity concern is already visible. Preserve the item and check the platform's current instructions first.

What if the batch number differs from the listing photo?
Different batches can be legitimate, so the difference alone is not proof of a problem. Record it and ask the seller or brand to confirm the delivered batch.

How long should I keep the files?
Keep them at least until the delivery is checked and any applicable return or dispute window has ended. Follow the platform's current terms for the specific order.
